Welcome to My Island!
I want to welcome you to my little piece of land in cyberspace, my professional portfolio. This portfolio was designed to synthesize my adventure and growth in the design and development of effective online education. The adventure began with the completion of my M.S. degree in Instructional Technology at East Carolina University in North Carolina. After my graduation I was hired by Saint Leo University in Florida as the first part of a soon to be Instructional Design Team. The team has been challenged with creating 93 online undergraduate courses and 32 graduate courses by January 2008. Since joining the team, I have analyzed, designed, developed and implemented about 30 complete online courses utilizing Saint Leo's innovative model. In addition, I have become the lead instructional designer and had the opportunity to be the project manager for a Learning Managment System conversion for the online MBA program. I was able to oversee the transition from our WebCT platform to the eCollege platform. It has been an accellerated process to meet pressing deadlines, but the value of what I have learned and gained is unmeasurable. It truly has been a great building block for an amazing future in this ever-changing world of leading and designing education.
